Kowabonga: Artificial Intelligence
I was testing artificial intelligence tools to generate images. Using "Comic Maker AI", I scribbled a sketch of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. In the second panel, we see what the A.I. understood based on my rough sketch alone. In the third panel, we see what A.I. got it when I added the "ninja turtle" prompt. In the fourth panel, we see what the A.I. got it when I provided the rough sketch with the "turtle" prompt. In the fifth and final panel, what the A.I. understood when I provided the sketch and the "masked turtle gnashing teeth" prompt.I don't want to bore you (and I don't want to bore myself) with discussions about the impact of artificial intelligence on comics, illustration and animation. Therefore, I recommend only reading (or re-reading) Scott mcCloud's book "Reinventing Comics: How Imagination and Technology Are Revolutionizing an Art Form: The Evolution of an Art Form".
